GIGABYTE G5 GD is an entry-level gaming laptop. The price of 15.6-inch is less than 750 euros (~$849). The shell of G5 does not use high-quality materials. The entire chassis is made of black plastic. Good: The battery is not firmly built into the device, so it can be removed. However, the battery life is poor. You can think of the battery more as an emergency power source in the event of a power failure.

The combination of the Core i5-11400H CPU and the RAM (dual channel mode) of the GeForce RTX 3050 notebook GPU brings all modern games to the screen smoothly. You can usually choose the full display resolution (1920x1080 pixels) and the highest quality setting. Good: Since the maximum TGP is 85 watts, the RTX 3050 GPU provides the best 3DMark results and the best game frame rate we have observed so far with this graphics core.

The matte display (Full HD, IPS, 144 Hz) provides stable viewing angles, good contrast, and good color reproduction. But there is room for improvement in brightness, color space coverage and response time.

The relatively low price level of 750 euros ($849) is mainly due to the fact that the laptop does not include the Windows operating system. Users with a valid Windows license should install Windows 10. Windows 11 is only compatible with newer BIOS versions, which unfortunately can cause game problems. Linux is obviously the first choice, but installing and setting up the system may be too cumbersome for many users.
